Before a photo goes online, take a minute to check the file as well as the picture. The details people miss are usually the ones that are not visible at a glance.
Check these fields
- GPS or other location data
- Camera and device details
- Editing software and XMP notes
- IPTC captions, author, or copyright fields
- Comments, thumbnails, and embedded previews
- Content Credentials or other provenance markers
Then make the version you will post
Keep the original in your archive. Inspect the file, remove the fields you do not need, and inspect the exported copy once more. If you resize or convert it for a platform, check that version too.
