A quick metadata check can save an awkward follow-up after you send a finished image. This matters for photographers, designers, agencies, and anyone delivering work on behalf of a client.
Check the file you are about to send
Look for location, device, editing software, comments, thumbnails, and provenance information. Some of those details are useful during production but unnecessary in the client’s copy.
Keep the original, send a clean copy
Archive the original in your working folder. Make a separate export for delivery, remove the fields you do not want to share, and keep the format and dimensions you agreed with the client.
Verify before delivery
Open the cleaned file and inspect it again. A clear before-and-after check is more useful than guessing what an app might read.
